FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, DALLAS, TX – As part of the upcoming summertime programming, PDNB Gallery will exhibit the all-encompassing group show, Second Look: A Review of Two Art Fairs. This exhibition will highlight various works from the two art fairs PDNB participated in last month. This marks the second year the gallery assembles selections of artworks shown during The Photography Show presented by AIPAD, in New York, and the more recent Dallas Art Fair.

Exemplary vintage photographs by Texas Bauhuas’ artists Ida Lansky and Barbara Maples will be on view. Their unique experimental photographs will also commemorate this year’s Centennial celebration of the Bauhaus in Germany.

Additional artists that received special attention in New York and Dallas include Cheryl MedowJeanine Michna-BalesElliott ErwittBen MarcinVadim GushchinJohn Albok and Bill Owens.

The Suburbia portfolio by Bill Owens was promoted in our New York booth with a special selection from the edition of 15 gelatin silver prints. This 2010 portfolio features the greatest hits of Owens’ Suburbia series that he originally completed in 1971.

In Dallas, PDNB featured Jeanine Michna-Bales’ Underground Railroad photographs using a different print process, dye-sublimation on aluminum. This process gives her eerie night images even more detail. A selection of these prints will be included in Second Look.

Cheryl Medow’s bird studies were also a big hit in both New York and Dallas. A special edition size (40 x 32 inches) of White Ibis, Pearl-Spotted Owlet and Great Blue Courtship were exhibited for the first time. The latter will be on view in this upcoming show.

This review will include additional artists exhibited in the two art fairs: Jesse Alexander, Keith CarterNickolas Muray, and Lucienne Bloch. The exhibition will be on view through July 6, 2019.
